Over 50 Years of Experience
In 1968, Del Curley developed an idea based on the success farmers were experiencing by testing their soil and fertilizing accordingly. He thought this concept could also be used to test feedstuffs and then supplement the nutrients that livestock rations were lacking. He knew that every livestock producer did not need the same bag of supplements. He recognized that the nutritional values of homegrown forages/feeds varied widely from farmer to farmer. So, why sell the same supplement to all? It just didn’t make sense to him and he noted, again and again, if farmers could test their soil and add only the fertilizer components they needed, why couldn’t the same be done for livestock feed supplements? Agri-King became the first to test feedstuffs and balance feeding rations using highly-fortified products. In 1974, only six years later, Agri-King had moved four times, started a laboratory to assure quality control, had a Fulton home base crew of 28 and, during those years, 156 salespeople in 12 states were selling… some for just days or weeks while others had new careers. Led by four: Del, his sister Edna Mooney, Cecil Melton and Gordon Maddy, they made decisions on the run. They never slowed down. They never looked back. Customers were doing well. Through the years, Agri-King continues to lead the industry with innovative ideas and the development of superior products to optimize dairy production, herd health, and molecular technology. Agri-King is now a multi-million dollar international business employing about 250 persons.
